PROJECT 1: INDUSTRIALISED BUILDING SYSTEM
This is a which required to form a group of 5 to 6 people and make a model and video relates to the topics of Industrialised Building System (IBS) as well as the materials’ embodied energy. Before entre the project student will have to learn different part of IBS system and the calculation of embodied energy. After that each group has to design and decide which type of the system is suitable for the 3 storey apartment. Then, the group has to construct a physical model of the building to imitate the actual IBS construction process and to record all the process in a video.
LEARNING OUTCOME
1. Identify and collect relevant research data.
2. Explain a set of architectural and structural documentation.
3. Relate basic structural elements and structural principles in construction.
4. Analyse and document construction methods and materials.
5. Critique issues pertaining to energy efficiency, embodied energy as well as ecological impact.
PROJECT 2 | CONSTRUCTION SOLUTIONS
This assignment is relate to the design studio project that aims to facilitate students in the technical studies and development of their design. Student have to learnt and analyse the structure and decide which system is suitable for the building and state the reason to prove it the system is workable construction system. The project required us to look into basic structural system such as wall system, roof system, structural system and facade system for our library.
While doing the project I'm learnt and discover a lot of new things through this module such as the bubble decking system to me is something new and never heard before.
